Lakeview Terrace Estates Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority Cleveland, Ohio Originally designed by Weinberg Conrad & Teare, the founding firm of Herman Gibans Fodor, Inc. – Architects, Lakeview Terrace Estates is a twenty-seven acre, forty-seven building public housing complex on a hillside overlooking Lake Erie and downtown Cleveland.     Included in the modernization master plan is the construction of mailbox plazas, trash handling areas, and site entrance gateways which emphasize the concept of smaller “villages” making up the larger housing community.     The project also includes a complete “gut-rehab” of twelve of the apartment buildings. Each new unit has a dedicated stairway and exterior entrance, eliminating the security problems associated with the common stairways and halls, and giving residents a stronger sense of identity and “ownership” of their apartment.
