James Herman has been a principal of the firm since 1967. In this role, he is responsible for initiating and supervising design, maintaining client relations and administering the practice. He has been principal-in-charge of numerous office buildings, institutional and multi-family housing projects.

Mr. Herman’s special area of interest is facilities for the elderly, where he has established himself as a leader in the design of environments for the aging. Mr. Herman has written several articles on issues concerning the elderly and disabled, is a former Board Member of the Montefiore Nursing Home and has chaired the Council on Older Persons, Federation for Community Planning. He received a B.Arch. from Cornell University, is a past President of AIA Cleveland and is Chairman of the Beachwood Architecture Review Board.
