Greenwood at Laurel Lake
Construction Completed for new Assisted Living

Greenwood is a new assisted living residence located on the campus of Laurel Lake, an existing continuing care retirement community located on a 150-acre wooded site in Hudson, Ohio. The existing community was constructed in 1987 and houses over 550 residents in independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing.

Located in the heart of the campus, Greenwood features ground floor common spaces that are available to the entire Laurel Lake community. It is connected by enclosed walkways to the campus Commons, independent apartments, and Rosewood, a new dementia care residence that was also designed by HGF as part of this expansion.

New common areas include the Greenwood Grill with three distinct dining areas. The Fireside Dining Room features a view-thru gas fireplace, the Garden Room affords views of the adjacent courtyard and the Terrace Room features an octagonal skylight and panoramic views of the new outdoor dining and gathering area. Greenwood also offers a branch bank with an ATM, a private dining room and several sitting areas off the main hallway.

Greenwood has twenty-seven spacious one and two bedroom apartments. Each suite has a full kitchen and bathroom, most also have an extra half-bath. The second and third floor rooms have bay windows and sliding french doors that afford sweeping views of the campus and surrounding forest. The first floor units have 10’ high ceilings and tall windows that provide a loft-style living environment.

The exterior of Greenwood has siding, trim and rooflines that are designed to blend in with the existing campus buildings. Cast stone is used as a natural compliment to the red brick found elsewhere at Laurel Lake.
